Imagine that you are not allowed to study in the school of your choice or college or your profession. How would you feel? Like a prisoner with no freedom. That is how India was under the rule of British. Indian people were treated as slaves in their own country and this carried on for more than 100 years until some brave people were born to lead the country to its independence on 15th of August 1947. It is celebrated as Indian Independence Day and is a national holiday. On this day Prime Minister of India hoists Indian Flag on Red Fort.
Essay on Independence Day in Hindi
India was divided into many kingdoms before any foreign invasion. There was no unity amongst the people. Not only were the people divided according to the state but color and caste too. All the kings wanted the entire country for them so they kept fighting amongst themselves. This gave Mughals the chance to invade our country and due to lack of unity they succeeded. The Mughals ruled us for 100 years and then came the British.
At first they seemed friendly as they helped destroy Mughal reign. Then Indian kings started asking them for favors and to help them fight against each other. This lack of unity gave the British the chance to make strong hold over our country. They started as a business company and then took over the entire country. They used the lack of unity against us. They favored some kings and those who opposed them were killed. This was done to set fear in our hearts and they were successful as people cared for their own lives more than the country.

Another mistake still prevalent is greed for power. In the past it was the kings now it is the politicians. Politicians in greed for money and power are becoming corrupt day by day and are hiding the money in foreign accounts instead of using it for welfare of the country. Lack of responsibility is another major issue as no one these days wants to take up the responsibility. Everyone blame the government but they are the people we chose. We have to start taking responsibility for our actions.
Government and soldiers are not the only ones responsible for development of our nation but each and every individual is. All citizens need to be more concerned about their country. Even is every citizen taken care of the surroundings they live and work in that also will solve many issues? Lack of loyalty is another key that we are carrying forward with us from the past. At that time for money some one or the other would open their mouths and get their friends get caught and now no one is loyal to the nation and that is why bribery and corruptions is still prevalent.
About Indian Independence Day of India
India became an Independent country on 15th of August 1947. It is being 69 years of independence and we are still a developing country. The growth of the country is very slow. What can be the reasons? What are the mistakes we are still repeating? Indians are still not learning from their mistakes. The biggest mistake that led to our downfall was division of people on many basis like caste system and difference in languages. Even today caste system prevails and is leading cause of riots in many states. This system is making lives of many people miserable.
Bearing the torture became a usual thing for the Indians. Enslaved in their own country Indians were treated like secondary citizens while British enjoyed the riches of our country. People had become use to the daily torture as they were enduring it for a long time. Everyone cared for their lives more than the freedom of the country. There was no leader to unite all the castes as this was much needed. People needed to know that they were equals and even the British were no super humans they too were ordinary people like them. Lack of unity, love for country and courage led to the enslaving of India.
India is in dire need for those freedom leaders to return so that now they can fight for freedom of country from corruption, caste system and human greed. Everyone needs to make an effort and pitch in for countries welfare. Vote for deserving candidates who would actually do something for the country. Respect the farmers and soldiers as they are the ones keeping you alive. Forget about your differences and become friends. Remove caste system from its core and consider everyone as equals. The death of so many freedom fighters should be paid respect by preserving what they fought and died for.
