Short Speech on Independence Day for kids

The most important day in Indian history that every Indian is aware and feels proud to celebrate is Independence Day. India got Independence on August 14th 1947 mid night and we the Indians are celebrating August 15th as our Independence Day. In olden days India and Pakistan were together and completely under control of English countries. Due to sacrifice of many great leaders we got freedom. As the English people left our country at midnight, Pakistan declared August 14th its Independence Day and India declared as August 15th as our Independence Day. Today we all are here celebrating without any dependency is because of sacrifice of many great freedom fighters. It is the time to remember all our great leaders and they are our role models for ever and remained in history.

It is not cake that we got independence and several billions of people joined hands together and started many movements. For instance, Non – Cooperation Movement was initiated by Mahatma Gandhi in the year 1920 and ran till 1922 under the guidance of Gandhi. This is one of the successful movements which received huge response from Indian people. To get awareness among the people Gandhi started Salt Satyagraha movement and had walk from Ahmedabad to Dandi. Millions of people joined this which is also famous as ‘Dandi March’. All these movements were help just to get awareness among the innocent Indian people how we are losing our property and these are steps in raising patriotism in people. Some leaders like Gandhi, Nehru took non – violence as their weapons and stood front in denying the usage of foreign products. Some young leaders like Subhash Chandra Bose and Bhagat Singh took step forward in training people in using military equipment and took participation in Second World War. Subhash Chandra Bose who started INA (Indian National Army) which is now known as the strongest military army power in Asia.

Because of those leaders life sacrifice and our fore fathers struggling we are here celebrating happily Independence Day. On this day our Prime Minister used to hoist flag in Red Fort which is located in New Delhi. After Independence Parliamentary system was implemented in India headed by Prime Minister. Our first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru started the custom of hoisting tri color national flag. All religious people come into one place and celebrate this auspicious event. It is very glad if we get a chance to participate in such an extraordinary event. We should be proud to be born in our country and should find path to make India a developed country soon. It is responsibility on every Indian shoulder and we should be able to fight unlike our freedom fighters. As India is a democratic country we have our own human rights. We have to make sure that we are ready to fight and make our dream India come true with in no time.
